The trifluoroethyl group improves interfacial compatibility and promotes the formation of a dense, LiF-rich solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), especially on lithium-metal and silicon-based anodes. TFEMC also helps suppress electrolyte decomposition and gas generation under high-voltage operation.
